The African American Youth League exists in order to raise awareness in teens, of past, present, and future racial struggles of the black community. The African American Youth League was founded in 2014 by high school students Annie Moore and Paige White after the killings of young black teens like Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Tamir Rice, and Laquan McDonald. Our goal is to increase social consciousness among teens of all races about cultural, racial, and socioeconomic injustices in the United States, to prevent racially motivated acts of unlawfulness in the future and to provide an outlet for black teens worldwide.
